My friend's question

I have a friend who posted this on her blog:

I have a question for all of you out there. Aspyn is now at the age where she is a lot of fun. She is starting to figure things out and wants to discover things. So, here is the question. Do any of you have some fun and creative activities for infants/toddlers? I have decided to spend about an hour each day doing something different with her that involves learning. I have made some things for her but I was wondering if anyone could give me any more ideas. So, if you do leave a comment for me. Thanks!!

Aspyn is 10 months old. I was wondering if any of you have some interesting things to say that I could add as comments to her blog. Thanks!

I don't know how much of a clean-freak you are, but two of my favorites when Miriam was around that age (...and older...and maybe still...):

1. Playing with rice. You can spread out a tarp or plastic or just be prepared to vacuum/sweep really well. Then give your kid a big bowl of rice with some scoopers or measuring cups and they can have at it.

2. Playing with water. Same concept as above, except probably spread out towels instead.

Otherwise, reading books is always fun!

You can also paint with pudding. Another fun and delicious game. You spread out foil and dump some pudding on it and let the kids go.

Our kids also like to play with ice cubes. Especially out on the sidewalk.
